Main Purpose of the Job

Custodian for ensuring competence within the context of the legislative environment and MCRS strategy as aligned with the HR Service Delivery Model as well as developing, co-ordinating, and facilitating Renal Care training and the implementation of new initiatives accordingly

Key Responsibility Areas

Advocate of learning culture

Manage employee development in a planned manner in accordance with the MCSA strategy

Coordinate and facilitate specific training courses to Renal Services, Mediclinic and clients and ensure learner competency

Act as custodian of learning and development standards of Renal localities

Enable transformation through learning and development

Required Education

Essential

Degree in General Nursing Science and Midwifery

B-Tech in Clinical Technology specialised in Nephrology

Desired

Post-graduate qualification in nursing education

Or

post-graduate qualification in Nephrology nursing/

M-Tech in Clinical Technology specialised in Nephrology

Required Experience

Essential

At least 2 years of experience as a Professional Nurse practitioner in a renal dialysis environment

Or

At least 2 years’ experience as a Graduate Clinical Technologist

At least 2 years’ experience in a learning and development role with renal dialysis background

Desired

Learning and development experience within the private healthcare environment

AHA Instructor

Required Job Skills and Knowledge

Adult Learning Principles

Education, training and relevant healthcare-related legislation and its application

within the learning and development environment; HWSETA and SANC requirements, including but not limited to those proposed by AHA & HPCSA.

Instructional Design (ADDIE model)

Kirkpatrick levels of evaluation

Learning (group) facilitation tools, techniques and best practices

Mediclinic clinical procedures and policies

Mediclinic grievance, disciplinary & absenteeism processes (students)

Mediclinic Learning and Development strategy, policies and guidelines

Mentoring and performance coaching skills

Microsoft Office Package (Word, Excel and PowerPoint, Outlook)

Nephrology nursing science, principles and clinical skills

Relevant Mediclinic record systems, e.g. Kronos, CRS, Connect, Nephroflow, etc.

Transformation strategy & B-BBEE and EE targets

Workplace assessment
