Main Purpose of Job

  • To plan and facilitate identified training and development interventions to ensure competency of all nursing staff.

    Key Responsibility Areas

  • Develop the competence of all nursing staff.

  • Ensure the correct application of nursing procedures and policies.

  • Identify training needs to guide the development of appropriate clinical training interventions.

  • Promote a culture of continuous professional development.

    Required Education

  • Essential Education: Degree/Diploma in General Nursing.

  • Desired Education: Nursing Education Diploma /Degree in Medical & Surgical Critical Care.

    Required Experience

  • Essential Minimum Experience: 5 years’ Clinical experience as a professional nurse.

  • Desired Experience: 5 years’ experience as a peer mentor; 5 years’ experience as a Workplace assessor.

    Required Job Skills and Knowledge

  • Facilitation skills.

  • Assessment skills.

  • Infection prevention and control (IPC) principles and protocols.

  • Clinical risk management.

  • Nursing processes and procedures.

  • Computer literate (Microsoft Office).

  • Continuous improvement and quality assurance methodologies.

  • Relevant nursing legislation.
