Job Description

Main Purpose

Participate in the planning, supervision and coordination of mental health / pycho-social related services in the programme in accordance with MSF standards in order to provide the most appropriate mental health support for patients.

Accountabilities

  • Participate in the planning, organization and coordination of Mental Health activities, in close collaboration with the Mental Health activity manager and other medical team members, in order to ensure an efficient and effective implementation of the resources needed while maintaining high levels of quality in Mental Health MSF programs and activities.

  • Supervise the daily mental health activities and patient support according to MSF protocols and standards in order to provide the most appropriate support for clients with psycho social needs

  • Liaise with the other MSF team members of the project.

  • Supervise, in close coordination with the HR department, the associated processes (induction, training, evaluation, development and communication) of the staff under his/her responsibility in order to ensure an smooth and quality implementation of the MH activities.

  • Oversee the administrative processes associated with psychosocial functioning.

  • When needed, give psychological support to patients according to MSF protocols to improve mental health conditions of patients and enhance their functionality.

  • Compile the data and statistic linked with MH activities and report to the MH Activity Manager

  • Offer clinical counselling supervision to mental health staff in collaboration with the Mental Health Activity Manager.

  • Ensure the patient’s related information is kept confidential

    MSF Section/Context Specific Accountabilities

  • Support, train and follow the project’s psyhologists while offering Psycological assessment and therapy in TCC or airport according to MSF guidelines and advice from the the MHAM.

  • Follow up cases that need special attention and follow-up in close collaboration with MHAM

  • Ensuring that discharged patients from MH MSF services (including the ones contracted with a private Sitota hospital) are linked to social services through close coordination with our social worker.

  • Identify training needs among the psychologist team at the airport and at TCC and define together with the MHAM strategies to improve their knowledge and skills to making sure that MH protocols
    and other MSF guidelines relate to MH are implemented.

  • Supervise data collection: Ensure together with the MH team, interpreters, translators and cultural mediators that alll MH files are well fullfilled and all all needed information is recorded and complete.

  • Follow up the daily needs: control the proper usage and supply of existent material and make sure that order request to supply team is one on timely manner.

  • Attending and activiely participating in the preparation/ organisation in different MSF events like supervision sessions meetings and trainings.

  • Ensure all administrative procedures and HR MSF regulations are respected by and with the MSF psychologist team, it may include; regular PMS to the staff under MHS management, development plans for the staff, disciplinary procedures as well as other according to MSF regulations and rules in the mission.

    Being responsible for the planning of shifts and annual leaves and follow up the team in terms of discipline, punctuality etc.

  • Ensure the confidentially of our medical and mental health activities as well as the privacy of the patients through our psychologist team; while also promote it among the MSF team.

  • Ensure that communication and social media guidelines of MSF as well as the security rules are respected by all team members under his supervision.

  • Contributing to project advocacy component and following up the trend and progress.

    Job Requirements

    Education

  • Degree in Clinical Psychology and/or Psychosocial School Degree is essential.

    Experience

  • Psychosocial counselling and/or psychotherapy experience of at least 3 years.

  • Supervisory role experience with psychologists or psychosocial team is desirable.

  • Experience in working with Migrants, IPD or Refugees is an added value.

  • Work experience with humanitarian’ NGO is a plus.

    Languages

  • Local language and English are essential.
