Medecins Sans Frontieres Nursing Care Advisor Jobs in Kenya;

Strategic Purpose of the Role

Develop and implement MSF Ubuntu nursing care strategies promoting people‑centered care.

Improve quality of clinical and nursing care across country programs.

Ensure high standards of Infection Prevention and Control (IPC).

Promote safe, rational, and efficient use of medical materials and equipment.

Contribute to MSF Ubuntu’s medical operational vision and strategies.

Tasks & Responsibilities

Strategic and Technical Leadership

Develop, implement, and monitor nursing care strategies.

Lead initiatives to improve quality of care in collaboration with technical advisors.

Identify, develop, and implement tools, guidelines, and documents related to nursing care.

Provide technical support to projects and country programs, recommending evidence‑based solutions.

Ensure IPC standards are applied at all levels.

Collaborate with pharmacy teams to update medical supply lists and catalogues.

Nursing Care Management and Service Organization

Identify and develop key tools related to nursing care management, supervision, and resource organization.

Program Support

Provide expert advice on patient care, nursing practices, and medical device use.

Support field teams in maintaining quality of care through structured processes.

Promote accurate data collection, analysis, and use for continuous improvement.

Support project design, reviews, and planning with Med‑Ops Cell managers and advisors.

Conduct briefings and debriefings with country teams and HQ staff.

Undertake program visits periodically or upon request.

Nursing Competency Development

Identify priority nursing competencies and capacity development needs.

Map training needs

and contribute to training strategies.

Support implementation of training, mentoring, and supervision activities.

Facilitate MSF Ubuntu and international MSF training courses when requested.

Representation and Coordination

Represent MSF Ubuntu in nursing platforms, communities of practice, and technical working groups.

Contribute to thematic initiatives, workshops, and conferences.

Build networks with local institutions to promote collaboration and best practices.

Capacity Building and People Management

Support recruitment, mentoring, and development of nursing staff and talent pools.

Collaborate with L&D and nursing platforms to promote knowledge sharing.

Facilitate workshops, webinars, and communities of practice.

Build capacity of program teams on nursing care standards, systems, and tools.
