Your Responsibilities
Context Analysis
Map key actors at the country level (MSF sections, NGOs, MoH, community organizations) to discuss policies and abuse prevention activities.
Participate in PSEA coordination meetings.
Conduct participatory abuse risk assessments with staff and communities.
Develop and Implement a Prevention Strategy
Lead safeguarding self‑assessments and contextual risk assessments.
Co‑develop risk reduction plans with country management teams.
Provide mentorship to project teams and monitor safeguarding actions.
Raise Awareness
Identify gaps in safeguarding awareness among staff.
Adapt training and tools to local contexts.
Conduct awareness sessions for managers, staff, patients, and communities.
Integrate safeguarding into recruitment processes and daily worker orientation.
Collaborate with MoH and partners to identify risks and mitigation measures.
Designing Community Feedback Channels
Identify or co‑create safe community feedback channels for abuse reporting.
Train staff on complaint handling, survivor‑centered response, and referral pathways.
Monitor feedback channels and adjust as needed.
Monitoring and Supervision
Organize data collection on prevention activities, complaints, and community perceptions.
Analyze data to assess effectiveness and integrity of safeguarding structures.
Provide regular updates to management and safeguarding teams.
Collaborate with other Operational Centres to align efforts and resources.
Supervise staff involved
in awareness raising and abuse prevention.
Write end‑of‑assignment reports with recommendations and documentation.
Context Specific Accountabilities
Conduct comprehensive safeguarding context analysis and risk assessment for Kenya mission (priority: Dagahaley, also Mombasa).
Develop and implement context‑adapted prevention strategies.
Assess safeguarding activities, review priorities, and propose appropriate team structures.
Your Profile
Minimum 5 years of experience in safeguarding within an international organization.
Proven safeguarding experience with INGOs.
Solid experience in context analysis, risk assessment, and strategy development.
English language essential (B2 minimum).
Female candidates strongly encouraged.
Swahili or Somali language an asset.
