What You Will DoYou will work as DFID's focal person on Health Sector Transformation Plan 2 development and Joint Assessment of National Strategies until those activities are finalized.
You will also support the Ministry of Health on coordination of COVID-19 response while ensuring continuity of essential health services.
You will support the Ministry's initiative to build resilient health systems which could combine achieving long term targets with effectively responding to any emergencies.
You will identify outlier regions/zones/ "Wordeas"in building resilient health systems and support the Ministry of Health transition it to scale.
You will collect, analyze and share data to formulate a clear image of progress towards achieving health sustainable development goals and Universal Health Coverage.
Lastly, you will identify risks to deliver results and propose recommendations to unravel problems escalating issues to leadership at the appropriate level before they become serious and assist in problem solving.
In this role you will also build rapport with key staff in the Ministry to support and reinforce accountability for specific initiatives, and coach other to improve the quality of outputs and outcomes.
Job Requirements
Qualifications
MD with related post graduate programme education, preferably in health, business and administration related field
Minimum of 7 years of experience in Ethiopian health sector
Experience at national level at the Ministry
Advanced knowledge of PowerPoint, Excel, Word
Ability to promote diversity and cultural differences
Excellent communication and problem solving skills
Written and oral fluency in English and Amharic
