Mbarara University of Science and Technology Senior Accounts Assistant Jobs in Uganda

Qualifications

Diploma in either Business Administration studies with Accounting Major, or Accounting from a recognized awarding Institution or

Full pre-professional qualification in Accounting Qualification (ATC or CAT) awarded from a recognized Institution

Knowledge of computerized Accounting packages such Quick Books, Tally

At least six years’ experience in posting Books of Accounts and generation of periodic financial statements

Duties and Responsibilities

Preparing payment vouchers

Assigning invoice numbers to transactions for further processing

Recording and capturing data on the system

Providing information on Electronic Fund Transfer and executing payments to beneficiaries

Preparing payment Advice form and compiling returns

Posting Vote books and Subsidiary ledgers

Preparing Statutory documents and filing of URA returns

Obtaining accountability documents for payments/advances made

Participation in budget process for the Institute

Preparation of Bank Reconciliation statements

Note: The duty station for this position is Institute of Tropical Forest Conservation located in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, Rubanda District.
