Job Purpose

To administer laws in and supervise the market.

Job Description and Duties

Collecting tax, market and seasonal fees from market vendors

Quality controlling and ensuring that products comply with the food guidelines developed for the market

Developing and preparing emergency plans for addressing accidents, injuries and fire outbreaks

Supervising the market, its activities and Keeping the operation of the farmers’ market running smoothly and effectively

Interpreting market rules and regulations and making necessary judgments and decisions if questions or concerns arise

Mediating disputes, complaints, accepting suggestions and working to achieve equitable and fair decisions in the market

Assigning stalls to market vendors

Maintaining and documenting market policies and procedures

Maintaining a clean and attractive market at all times and enforcing penalties on vendors who do not leave their stall area clean

Person Specifications:

Academic Qualifications

An Honors Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Marketing or Economics from a recognized institution.
