Purpose of the Position

  • The Marketing Field Officers will be tasked to facilitate demand creation trainings and community awareness raising activities to increase the demand of improved sanitation by households and institutions, provide sanitation marketing training and supervision to sanitation marketers, create and aggregation of demand, and support project officers in facilitation of linkages to financial partners to enhance financial inclusion.

    Job description

    Demand Creation / Sanitation Marketing:

  • In collaboration with the marketing manager train sanitation marketers and community health volunteers in selected marketing strategies and techniques, and marketing materials
    Identify and select sanitation marketers
    Provide awareness creation activities in community meetings, door to door visits.
    Prepare weekly plans for sanitation marketers

  • Organize Kebele level demand pre-screening meetings

  • Register pre-screened and eligible demand
    Support customers /households to obtain the necessary documents from Kebele Administration

  • Perform tasks assigned by his line manager related to his role

    Sanitation financing and Inclusion:

  • In collaboration with Project officers, facilitate linkage of eligible households with selected micro-finance institutions

  • Support the project officers in the formation of groups for households to support in the financial inclusion component through group-based lending

  • Attend client and group meeting occasionally with the financial partners loan officer to mark

  • Follow up on sanitation loans processed
    Report on sanitation systems issued through loans by
    the partner FIs

    Project Management:

  • Participate in sector meeting related to his role

  • Quickly analyse the context change and forge partnership with others related to his role

  • Perform other activities assigned by the line manager related to his role

    Job Requirements

    Education and year of experience:

  • Bachler Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Entrepreneurships, developmental studies, and relevant trainings
    Two years of relevant work experience
    Experience with NGO is of an advantage

    Knowledge, skills, and abilities

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Amharic.

  • Computer skill

  • Motor bike driving license

  • A self-starter and can work with minimum supervision

  • Open and eager to learn new ideas and concepts

  • Willing to work in strict deadlines
