Purpose of the Position

  • The Marketing Area Manager is responsible for all demand creation activities in the assigned project area and will be tasked to manage, supervise and train marketing field officers (and sanitation marketers) on sanitation marketing and other demand creation tools, and prepare weekly and monthly plans for marketing field officers and sanitation marketers.

    Job Description

    Demand Creation / Sanitation Marketing:

  • Train, supervise, coach, and manage marketing field officers

  • Organize training on sanitation marketing strategies and technique and FINISH approach for Sanitation marketers/HEWS Identify and select sanitation marketers and community health volunteers

  • Organize improved sanitation promotion community meeting f at village/kebele level
    Organize showcasing event of FINISH approach and results

  • Develop, print and distribute different sanitation marketing materials, communication tools/Job aids

  • Provide support to sanitation marketers to prepare long list of HHs to be screened by pre-screening committee

  • Lobby with local government for improved sanitation prioritization

  • Prepare monthly plans for marketing activities per district

  • Prepare weekly plans for sanitation marketers

  • Perform tasks assigned by his line manager related to his role

    Sanitation financing and Inclusion:

  • Support in facilitating linkages of eligible households with selected micro-finance institutions

  • Follow up on sanitation loans processed
    Report on sanitation systems issued through loans by the partner FIs

  • Perform tasks assigned by his/her line manager related to his/her role

    Project Management:

  • Support the project area manager in making weekly
    and monthly plans

  • Participate in monthly cluster implementation team meetings

  • Inform the cluster implementation team the progress, results achieved and challenges
    Quickly analyse the context change and forge partnership with others related to his role
    Participate in sector meeting related to his role

  • Perform other activities assigned by the line manager related to his role

    Job Requirements

    Education and year of experience:

  • Bachler Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Entrepreneurships, developmental studies, and relevant trainings

  • Four years of relevant work experience

  • Experience with NGO is of an advantage

    Knowledge, skills, and abilities

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Amharic.

  • Computer skill

  • Motor bike driving license is advantageous

  • A self-starter and can work with minimum supervision

  • Open and eager to learn new ideas and concepts

  • Willing to work in strict deadlines
