Mathira Water and Sanitation Company Technical Assistant – Intake III Jobs in Kenya

Key Responsibilities

Maintain water quality through routine removal and disposal of debris and fallen leaves at screens/strainers

Adhere to maintenance schedules for the dam, structures, and storage tanks in liaison with the supervisor

Remove floating matter in the dam and intakes, including water weeds, in a timely manner

Protect dam structures through daily monitoring and reporting of security issues to the supervisor

Report encroachment or interference by external parties/entities, including the surrounding community

Ensure proper and effective distribution of water from the dam

Repair leakages or breakdowns in the distribution system and raw water mains economically and promptly

Monitor, read, and record raw water bulk meters regularly

Dose chlorine as directed, ensuring timely and effective application

Care for and ensure safety of tools and equipment; maintain accountability for materials and labour/casuals

Patrol raw water mains regularly and report leaks or bursts

Qualifications

Certificate in Water Supply/Plumbing/Non‑Revenue Water Management from a recognized institution, or Trade Test Certificate in Plumbing Grade III (or equivalent)

Basic computer skills

KCSE Certificate with minimum grade D+

At least 1 year relevant experience in a reputable organization
