The Associate Consultant at Marsh & McLennan Agency will serve as an employee benefits expert for a major client. The Associate Consultant will join a team that services the Association Health Plan groups.

This person will collaborate and work closely alongside three Consultants and one Executive Vice President. The role involves frequent client interaction and some travel.

The ideal candidate will be one that is energized by providing excellent customer service, and one with exceptional problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities include:

Responding to client inquiries related to employee benefits and enrollment

Build, track, and reconcile multiple projects by leveraging project management tools

Maintain and organize comprehensive internal client files

Collaborate with the Marketing Consultants to develop and edit of employee benefit communication materials

Support the team during renewal, marketing, and implementation processes for clients

Benchmark survey data for client plans, summarize and validate reviewed information

Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendor partners

Respond/adapt to multiple client priorities to adhere to project deadlines

Independently conduct research for client projects (i.e. claims and billing issues) and collaborate with vendor partners to resolve inquiries

Attend external meetings related to client and vendor projects

Desired Skills and Experience:

A bachelor’s degree and a minimum 1-year insurance industry experience preferred

Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills including the ability to create pivot tables, vlookups, charts & graphs

Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to keep track of multiple work tasks simultaneously

Excellent communication skills and an ability to relay complex concepts to individuals at various levels of benefits knowledge.

Self-starter with the ability and desire to initiate tasks

Ability to prioritize and to

work under tight deadlines

Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with colleagues at all levels within an organization.

Knowledge of Adobe In-Design a plus.

Exposure to health & welfare compliance (HIPAA, FMLA, COBRA, DOL, etc) a plus
