Responsibilities
Review client medical history and supporting clinical information; communicate with clients in a manner appropriate to their understanding.
Conduct clinical assessments and perform diagnostic medical sonography examinations as ordered by the supervising physician in line with professional and facility protocols.
Review examination images, synthesize results, and prepare preliminary findings.
Apply independent judgment to ensure anatomical, pathological, and clinical conditions are accurately captured.
Assume responsibility for client safety during sonographic examinations.
Maintain client privacy and confidentiality in accordance with laws and facility policies.
Use proper positioning tools, equipment adjustments, and ergonomically correct scanning techniques to ensure client comfort and prevent compromised data acquisition or musculoskeletal injury.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to generate demand for ultrasound services and drive client volumes.
Prepare exam rooms and ultrasound equipment in line with infection‑control, sterilization, and safety protocols.
Acquire additional imaging when necessary to facilitate optimum diagnostic results.
Identify and document limitations of examinations and escalate appropriately.
Ensure preventive maintenance of ultrasound equipment for optimal performance.
Operate the Picture Archiving and
Communication System (PACS).
Uphold safeguarding principles while handling clients.
Qualifications / Work Experience
Academic Diploma in Ultrasound, Medical Imaging Sciences, or Radiography from a recognized institution.
Professional Minimum of two (2) years’ experience as a sonographer in a reputable hospital or medical facility.
Professional Registration with the relevant regulatory or professional body, with a current practicing license.
Professional Computer literacy.
Professional Knowledge of relevant legislation.
