Manpower Services Procurement and Logistics Officer Jobs in Kenya

To effectively and efficiently direct, optimize and coordinate the order cycle and management of procurement, logistics and inventory to maximize profits as aligned to the corporate strategy.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement procurement processes, procedures and controls
  • Implement inventory policy and maintain stocks at approved levels to avoid excess or stock outs
  • Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness
  • Monitor forecasts and quotas to identify changes that may affect the sales process
  • Negotiate with external vendors to secure advantageous terms
  • Perform risk management for supply contracts and agreements, while examining and re-evaluating existing contracts in line with performance
  • Regular key supplier appraisal and selection process in accordance with the organization’s interest with integrity
  • Supplier relationship management as well as maintain relationships with governmental agencies
  • Constantly review freight costings to ensure the organization is getting the best possible rates and services
  • Supervision of all imports and associate shipments to ensure minimum shipping times and maximum efficiencies
  • Maintaining and imports position updates to be shared with management on weekly and monthly basis

    Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in commerce/business management with
    a bias in procurement or related field.
  • A post graduate training and relevant certification by Kenya institute of supplies management (CIPS, K), an added advantage
  • Minimum five (5) years' experience in a reputable company
  • Excellent understanding of procurement laws within the East African region
  • Good working knowledge on KRA, KPA, Kenya Bureau of Standards and other regulatory bodies within the East African region.
  • Good working knowledge and understanding of ERP systems
  • Knowledge in Kaizen and ISO an added advantage
