specialising in the comprehensive prevention, control and treatment of malaria and other
communicable diseases among vulnerable and under privileged populations. We increasingly find our
work on malaria can be effectively integrated with other similar public health interventions for greater
impact and therefore expanded our remit to include child health and neglected tropical disease interventions.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in treatment of malnutrition cases at the OTP sites using the South Sudan national
    protocol on community management of acute malnutrition
  • Administer routine medication and treatment of minor ailments and referral of SAM cases
    for impatient care as necessary
  • Assist in on job training of Community Nutrition Workers (CNWs) and harmonize active
    case finding at the OTP site
  • Assist with implementing nutrition focused sensitization activities
  • Carrying out Mass MUAC campaigns, deworming campaign including Vitamin A and Micro
    nutrient supplementation during NIDs
  • Assist in building good relation with community leaders and maintaining relevant links with
    other sectors related to health and Nutrition at payam level
  • Prepare and submit stock report together with stock supply request according to the caseload
    per site
  • Submit appropriate requests for supplies to ensure that OTPs remain stocked, follow-up on
    orders and monitor consumption of medical and non-medical supplies at OTP sites

    Requirements

  • Certificate in Public health/Nutrition/Nursing or related field from a recognized institution
  • Secondary school certificate
  • At least two years field experience in nutrition programmes including work in OTPs
  • Demonstrate ability to train
  • Good written and spoken English
  • Flexible, ability to work both as an individual and as a team member and under stress in what can be a harsh environment
  • Republic of South Sudan National, preferably from NBeG
  • Fluent in Dinka and Arabic
