Makueni County Assembly Senior Procurement Officer I Jobs Opportunities

Duties and responsibilities

  • Head the Procurement unit and report to the Principal Financial Officer;
  • Updating, interpreting and implementing existing procurement laws, regulations,
    policies and procedures;
  • Preparing procurement plans in accordance with the budget;
  • Procurement of stores and supplies;
  • Assessing the performance of suppliers and contractors;
  • Coordinating the preparation and the implementation of procurement manual;
  • Ensuring goods delivered by suppliers are of the right quality and quantity; and
  • Training and development of supplies personnel.

    Requirements for Appointment

    For promotion to this post, an officer must have:

  • Served as Senior Procurement officer II for at least three (3) years;
  • A Master’s degree and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics or Bachelor of Commerce
    or Business Administration-BBA (Procurement/Supply Chain Management) from a
    recognized university;
  • A Post graduate diploma in procurement/supplies management;
  • Shown merit in job performance;
  • Membership to Kenya Institute of Supplies Management;
  • Clearances from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations, Kenya Revenue Authority, Higher Education Loans Board and the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission

    Makueni County Assembly Legal Counsel II Jobs Opportunities

    Duties and Responsibilities

  • Drafting Bills and amendment to the Bills to be proposed to the Assembly by any
    Member of the Assembly or any committee of the Assembly;
  • Providing legal advice to the County Assembly, Assembly committees, the speaker, the
    County Assembly Service Board, individual members and the Clerk;
  • Ensuring that the Bills passed by the County Assembly comply with the Constitution;
  • Legal representation of the County Assembly and the County Assembly Service Board in
    court proceedings.

    Requirements for Appointment

  • Have a Bachelor’s Degree in Laws from a recognized institution;
  • Be admitted as an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya;
  • Be in possession of a current practicing certificate;
  • Have proficiency in use of basic computer applications;

    Makueni County Assembly Supply Chain Management Officer II Jobs Opportunities

    Duties and Responsibilities

  • Purchasing, Receiving requisitions and specifications from users, doing tendering and
    acquiring of goods and services;
  • Commissioning of procured services, issuing of goods and retiring of boarded goods;
  • Control of supplied goods, stores control and issue of goods from the stores;
  • Preparation of LPOs, verification of goods and services received and verification of
    invoices against supplied goods and services;
  • Disposal of obsolete and unserviceable stores/goods;
  • Offering secretarial services to tender processing committees.

    Requirements for Appointment

  • Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines:- Supply Chain Management,
    Commerce (Supplies Management option), Procurement or any other equivalent
    qualification from a recognized institution;
  • Served in a comparable position for a minimum period of two (2) years;
  • Proficiency in computer applications

    Makueni County Assembly Internal Auditor II Jobs Opportunities

    Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensuring compliance with organizational procedures and regulations and physical
    tallying of assets with records;
  • Assessment of effectiveness of existing systems and safeguards (standards), review of
    such safeguards and preparation of reports on such assessment and reviews.
  • Ensuring expenditures are in accordance with the law;
  • Advice on financial systems and procedures and procurement systems;
  • Developing internal controls and strengthening such controls.

    Requirements for Appointment

  • Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines:- Commerce
    (Accounting/Finance/Audit option), Economics, Mathematics, Information Technology,
    Statistics or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution; OR
  • Certified Public Accountants (CPA)K or Certified Internal Auditors (CIA) Part IV from a recognized institution;
  • Membership to Institute of Internal Auditors will be an added advantage;
  • Proficiency in computer application skills;
  • Demonstrated professional competence.
