Makerere University Walter Reed Project Research nurses Jobs in Uganda

Position Summary:

The Research Nurse will offer nursing support services to the Makerere University Walter Reed Project Research studies.

Roles and Responsibilities:

In charge of the recruitment of volunteers

Responsible for administering HIV testing and counselling

In charge of administering Informed Consent.
administering questionnaires

In charge of the collection of study specimens

Ensure compliance with study procedures and GCP standards

Ensure participant safety and confidentiality.

Following Standard Operating Procedures.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

The prospective employee should hold a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from a recognized University

Highly organized, detail-oriented and self-motivated.

Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

Ability to work on own initiative.

Ability to professionally communicate in writing, verbally or other means deemed appropriate.

Excellent interpersonal/communication skills

Good Clinical Practice (GCP) training.

Working knowledge of Regulatory Procedures.

Use of computers including word processing and Internet.

Previous work in a research environment is added advantage

Fluency in verbal and written English and Luganda

Physical Ability: Ability to professionally communicate in writing and verbally or other means deemed appropriate. The ability to frequently travel between MUWRP sites in Uganda.

Supervisory controls: The candidate will serve under the immediate supervision of the Project Supervisor – AFRICOS.
