Maintenance Supervisor Job in Kenya



Our client, an Educational Institution is looking to hire a Maintenance Supervisor to manage maintenance of the school’s infrastructure.

Location:

  • Nairobi

    Roles and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for supervision of building premises: examine the school facility on a daily basis for needed repairs, maintenance and cleanliness and perform ad hoc maintenances required
  • Conduct on going regular preventative maintenance, upkeep and repair program including painting and general repairs to façade, plumbing, windows, electrical and mechanical installation
  • Oversee and supervise daily maintenance staff to ensure facilities are in functional condition
  • Inspect facilities periodically to determine problems and necessary maintenance
  • Prepare weekly maintenance schedules and allocate work
  • Recruit, supervise and train maintenance technician
  • Hire and supervise tradesmen during installations, repairs or maintenance (electricians, plumbers etc.)
  • Contribute to the development of maintenance budget and ensure compliance
  • Monitor inventory of materials and equipment
  • Participate in coordination of projects (e.g. renovations)
  • Ensure adherence to quality standards and health and safety regulations

    Qualifications for the Maintenance Supervisor

  • Have Degree/ Diploma in Engineering or
    related field
  • At least 3 years work experience as amaintenance supervisor or similar role
  • Background in maintenance preferably ; plumbing and masonry
  • Strong technical knowledge of all building systems
  • Knowledge of health & safety practices and regulations
  • Understanding of budgeting and performance management
  • Excellent planning and leadership abilities
  • Recognizes and resolves problems quickly and efficiently
