Machakos University Lecturer - Electrical and Electronics Engineering Jobs in Kenya



Requirements for Appointment

  • Earned PhD degree or equivalent from an accredited and recognized University.

  • Registration with the relevant professional body (where applicable).

    OR (Special Cases/Disciplines)

  • Master’s degree in Engineering, Medicine, Nursing, or Public Health from an accredited and recognized University plus at least three (3) years of teaching experience at University level or in research/industry.

  • Minimum of 24 research and publication points, of which 16 should be in refereed journals, or one (1) post‑secondary school book, or four (4) book chapters in relevant fields.

  • Registration with the relevant professional body (where applicable).

    Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develop teaching materials, teach, and mentor undergraduate and postgraduate students.

  • Set, moderate, and mark examinations.

  • Supervise student projects, dissertations, and theses.

  • Participate in development and preparation of annual faculty plans.

  • Contribute to development of undergraduate and postgraduate courses.

  • Initiate and participate in research projects.

  • Provide professional and community services.

  • Initiate linkages with industry players.

  • Organize academic trips and supervise educational activities.

  • Assess industrial attachments for students.

  • Attend and participate in seminars, workshops, and conferences.

  • Participate in planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of curricula.

  • Conduct research and provide consultancy services.

  • Participate in departmental committees and faculty management activities.

  • Undertake administrative duties as assigned by the Chairman of Department.
