Machakos University was awarded a Charter on 7th October 2017 and is a successor of Machakos University College. It is located one (1) Km from Machakos Town along the main Machakos – Wote road.

Machakos University invites applications from candidates who are suitably qualified and experienced with excellent credentials to fill the listed vacant position in the University.

Job Description

Work at this level entails:

Operation of vehicles,

Detection and reporting common faults,

Keeping the vehicles clean, carrying out minor repairs including oiling and greasing,

Maintenance of work ticket for vehicles as assigned,

Ensuring safety of the vehicle and any other duties as may be assigned by the Transport Officer.

Job Specification/Requirements for Appointment

For direct appointment to this grade, a candidate must have: –

Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) mean grade of at least D+ (plus) or its equivalent.

Valid driving license at least class BCE free from any endorsement.

P.S.V license for bus and mini/bus (for bus and minibus drivers).

At least five (5) years work experience relevant work experience.

Certificate of Good conduct.

Basic certificate on first Aid Computer literacy Accident free record or if any the records show that they were not in any way attributable to the drivers negligence.

Job Requirements :-

Must have an earned KCSE Certificate

or equivalent and has experience as a Driver/ Mechanic for six (6) years.

Have a clean valid driving license classes BCE and PSV.

Passed in occupation Test Grade III.

Certificate in first Aid is an added advantage.

Certificate of good conduct.
