  • LVCT Health is an established Kenyan NGO that is renowned for its implementation of health programs at scale in Kenya. Through its vision of Healthy Empowered Communities, LVCT Health is a leader in designing and implementation of innovative HIV prevention and treatment approaches, sexual and reproductive sexual and gender based violence programs reaching the most vulnerable populations. The organization works with government and other stakeholders at national and county levels.
    LVCT Health is funded by various funding agencies and implements programs in various part of the country in government facilities, its own facilities and facilities run by sub-partner organisations.

  • LVCT Health is looking for a dynamic well qualified and motivated individual to fill the following vacant position:

    ICT Manager

    Reporting to: Operations Director

    ICT/LVC/01/2021

    Job Purpose:

  • The ICT manager will ensure the smooth operation of the ICT department in alignment with the business objectives of the organisation.

  • The ICT manager will plan, direct, coordinate and design ICT-related activities, as well as provide administrative direction and support for daily operational activities of the ICT department. .

    Key Roles and Responsibilities:

    • Formulate and direct information and communication technology (ICT) strategies, policies and plan

    • Working with department heads, anticipate business needs and identifiy and proposeICT products and services to fulfil those needs.
    ICT Infrastructure and systems

    • Evaluate user needs and system functionality and ensure that ICT facilities meet these needs.

    • Design and implement short and long term plans to ensure ICT infrastructure (hardware, software, networking) meets existing and future capacity and capability requirements.

    • Develop procedures and associated implementation, testing and training plans for infrastructure administration, security and data management

    • Lead ICT teams to develop, implement, manage and maintain the ICT

    • infrastructure including server and network configuration, security, accessibility, connectivity, and backup.

    • Ensure that the ICT Service Desk operates efficiently and effectively, providing technical support in a timely manner.

    • Maintain Hardware Asset Register detailing ICT equipment used by the organisation

    • Research and recommend installation of new systems to keep up to date with the changing technology.

    ICT Security

    • Identify, analyse and manage associated information risks.

    • Managing overall systems control by safeguarding the systems against deliberate efforts to fraudulently abusing it through physical and logical systems security and establishment of security features within the system for control purpose, though network monitoring and management

    • Conduct regular assessments, upgrades and backups to safeguard against risks

    • Ensure compliance with ICT policies and procedures to ensure no risks to the system

    • Ensure that proper software is used and software licensing laws are adhered to in regard to the institute’s policy and guidelines.

    • Develop and ensure that business continuity measures are implemented and kept up to date, including disaster recovery plans for critical systems and telephony.

    Management

    • Leading, motivating, mentoring and developing the ICT staff across the regions to achieve business and people objectives

    Preparing, managing and monitoring the departments plans and budgets

    • Work with procurement to obtain competitive prices from suppliers to ensurecost effectiveness, innovation and value for money

    • Provide regular verbal and written reports to management on ICT service levels, planned maintenance, issues and data

    • Identifying, implementing and benchmarking best practices

    • Managing and implementing change initiatives to achieve desired business results. Lead ICT projects

    • Developing and Reviewing ICT Risk management and Business continuity plan

    • Define business and ICT performance metrics, and measures, track and report on benefits realization.

    • Contribute to LVCT Strategy development and execution by proposing ICT solutions and that increase the organization’s efficiency and competiveness.

    Required Qualifications/Experience

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science/Engineering or Business IT from a recognised institution. Master’s degree will be an added advantage

    • At least Five(7years’ of experience in ICT with at least 3 years in management

    • Professional certification such as Certified Computer Network Professional (CCNP), CCNA, MCSE, MCSA, MCSD, Oracle Certified Database administrator OCDBA, Microsoft Certified databases Administrator (MCDBA)or their equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.

    • Certificate in ITIL foundation is a mu

    • Member of an ICT professional body

    • Willingness to travel to the field offices.

    • Good interpersonal and team building skills.

    • Self-motivated, honest, high integrity, highly responsible, and punctual.

    • Flexibility, adaptability, cultural sensitivity, team player.

    • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

    • Quality and commitment to service including working for long or odd hours
