Job Description
  • The Procurement Manager will be responsible for managing the procurement process and ensuring that the organization has the necessary materials and services to meet its operational needs.
  • They will work closely with other departments to identify procurement needs and negotiate contracts with vendors and suppliers.

    Responsibilities]
  • Develop and implement procurement policies and procedures that align with business objectives and ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Identify procurement needs and work with other departments to develop procurement plans and specifications.
  • Identify and evaluate potential vendors and suppliers, and negotiate contracts and terms of service.
  • Monitor vendor performance and manage vendor relationships.
  • Ensure timely delivery of goods and services and manage inventory levels.
  • Develop and maintain a procurement budget and provide regular reporting on procurement activities.
  • Maintain procurement records and ensure compliance with procurement regulations and policies.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements in procurement operations.
  • Manage a team of procurement staff, including hiring, training, and performance management.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and regulations in procurement

    Qualifications, Experience, and Attributed Skills
  • Master's Degree in Procurement, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Law or a related field.
  • 8-10 years of experience in procurement management, preferably in a large organization.
  • Must be a member of any of the following Professional Bodies such as Association of Public Procurement Practitioners of Nigeria (APPON), Procurement Professionals Association of Nigeria.
  • Strong
    knowledge of procurement processes, regulations, and best practices.
  • Excellent negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to manage and motivate procurement staff and work collaboratively with other departments.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of procurement management software and tools.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Knowledge of relevant procurement regulations, such as government procurement regulations or industry-specific regulations.
