Job Description
  • The Head Planning and Strategic Portfolio will be responsible for choosing how best to allocate the organization's limited resources to fulfill strategic goals, taking into account the business as a portfolio of activities and balancing trade-offs across the portfolio.

    Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement portfolio strategies and plans that align with the organization's goals and objectives.
  • Evaluate and prioritize investment opportunities based on risk, return, and other factors.
  • Balance risks and returns across the portfolio to optimize resource allocation and achieve portfolio objectives.
  • Lead a team of portfolio analysts and planners, providing mentorship, guidance, and professional development opportunities.
  • Collaborate with other teams and departments to ensure that portfolio strategies are aligned with broader organizational goals.
  • Analyse market trends and conditions to identify potential risks and opportunities and adjust portfolio strategies accordingly.
  • Communicate portfolio performance and progress to senior leadership and the board of directors through reports and presentations.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies and procedures.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, such as investment managers, consultants, and vendors.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

    Educational Qualifications, Experience, and Attributed Skills
  • Bachelor's Degree preferably in Business Administration, Finance, Economics Management, or a related field. Possession of PMP, Prince 2, or its equivalent will be a plus.
  • Minimum 10 years of Previous experience in a Strategic Planning role, ideally from a complex investment environment.
  • Negotiating and influencing agreements and trade-offs so
    that risks, issues, and dependencies are managed to keep delivery on track.
  • Ability to communicate technical information to a non-technical audience.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of operations & strategy implementation.
  • Experience in budgeting, forecasting, accrual, and business relationship management
  • Recognize and track strategic interdependencies across change programs within and external to the portfolio.
  • Demonstrated success in applying independent judgment.
  • Proficient use of Microsoft office.
  • Excellent interpersonal, relationship-building, and communication abilities. good understanding of the operational environment and the rules.
