Position Summary

  • The Medical Laboratory technician/ Medical Laboratory technologist of the center is accountable to Laboratory department Head and is responsible for conducting laboratory tests, procedures, experiments, and analyses to provide data for diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease.

  • He/she expects to analyze bodily fluids like blood, urine, and spinal fluid, to determine the presence of normal and abnormal components

    Responsibilities

  • Receive, label and analyze samples

  • Design and execute laboratory testing according standard procedures, make observations and interpret findings

  • Organize and store all chemicals substances, fluids and compressed gases according to safety instructions

  • Record all data and results in specified forms (paper and electronic) with accuracy and responsibility

  • Reviews test results, follows-up on abnormal and critical values

  • Maintain equipment and assist in ordering laboratory supplies

  • Ensure that all safety guidelines are followed strictly at all times and maintain a clean and orderly environment

  • Ensure patient confidentiality at all times

  • Work with other departments, as appropriate to collaborate in patient care and performance improvement activities,

  • Establish and maintain standards of performance and ensures competency of personnel

    Job Requirements

    Education/Qualification

  • Diploma in laboratory technology

  • Degree in laboratory technology(BSc)

    Work Experience

  • 2 years and above for Diploma

  • Even with no experience for Degree (BSc)

  • Experience in operating electrical and nonelectrical laboratory equipment

  • Excellent physical condition and endurance

  • Ability to work autonomously and under pressure

  • Having valid laboratory technician/technologist license

  • knowledge of MS Office
