Living Goods Driver - Kakamega Jobs in Kenya;Provide safe, reliable, and efficient transportation services in support of organizational programs and operations. Ensure adherence to transport policies, donor compliance requirements, and road safety regulations while supporting administrative and logistical functions.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

Safe & Responsible Driving

  • Safely operate assigned vehicles in compliance with national traffic laws and organizational transport policies.

  • Ensure safety and security of passengers including staff, visitors, and consultants.

  • Apply defensive driving techniques and maintain high situational awareness.

  • Transport staff and materials to field locations, partner sites, and official engagements.

  • Exercise duty of care in all driving assignments and adhere to journey management protocols.

    Vehicle Management & Maintenance

  • Keep assigned vehicles clean, roadworthy, and well‑maintained.

  • Conduct daily pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections and report defects promptly.

  • Ensure timely servicing and maintenance in coordination with the transport unit.

  • Monitor fuel usage and ensure efficiency and accountability.

  • Safeguard organizational assets through proper use and care of vehicles.

    Documentation, Reporting & Compliance

  • Maintain accurate logbooks including mileage, fuel consumption, trips, and destinations.

  • Submit timely monthly vehicle reports.

  • Report accidents, incidents, near misses, or mechanical issues immediately.

  • Comply with donor, audit, and organizational documentation standards.

  • Support audit readiness by ensuring completeness of vehicle records.

    Administrative & Logistical Support

  • Assist with basic administrative duties including photocopying, filing, scanning, and deliveries.

  • Collect and deliver official correspondence, parcels, and documents.

  • Distribute internal communications and program materials.

  • Support field logistics including movement of supplies and program materials.

    Safety, Safeguarding & Organizational Conduct

  • Participate in mandatory safety, safeguarding, and driver training sessions.

  • Adhere to safeguarding policies, including protection of vulnerable populations.

  • Uphold integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.

  • Report safeguarding concerns, security risks, or unethical
    conduct.

    Fleet Compliance & Risk Management

  • Follow journey management procedures including travel approvals and route planning.

  • Ensure compliance with insurance, registration, and statutory requirements.

  • Identify and report road safety or operational risks.

  • Support emergency response procedures when required.

    Minimum Requirements

    Education & Certification

  • Minimum KCSE D+ or equivalent.

  • Valid driving license (Classes B, C & E).

  • Valid AA Driving Certificate or equivalent defensive driving certification.

  • Valid Police Clearance Certificate.

    Experience

  • Minimum 4 years of proven professional driving experience, preferably in NGO, donor‑funded, or corporate environments.

    Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of Kenyan road networks, especially rural routes.

  • Excellent understanding of road safety regulations and defensive driving.

  • Ability to drive both manual and automatic vehicles.

  • High attention to detail in record keeping and documentation.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Ability to work under pressure and manage long‑distance travel safely.

  • High integrity, reliability, and accountability.
