This position is based in Kenya.
About the Role
Being a Full Stack Sr. software engineer of our team, you will work with our technical team through exciting challenges and opportunities that come with a BNPL product.
We work in an agile and highly collaborative environment and challenge the norms of traditional business leadership.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced engineer able to own aspects of the Larger technical infrastructure and assist in the development of the team.
If you have excellent programming skills, a passion for developing/improving applications utilizing cutting edge technologies, and strong leadership skills, then we would like to meet you.
Responsibilities:
Help define and lead the technical roadmap.
Directly contribute to core design and write code. Serve as a role model for how great software should be written for the whole company.
Ensure our infrastructure is safely extensible, scalable, reliable and meets SLAs for both external and internal users.
Shape future proof interfaces that are easy to build against and meet the requirements of product teams.
Run, design, and code review
Skills and Qualifications
4+ years of
experience in architecting and designing large-scale and complex systems that
delivered critical impact to a well-known business.
Have rich experience in driving, executing, and delivering high quality technical solutions.
Are skilled in gathering and effectively synthesizing users’ feedback and experience with
platforms and product offerings.
Are skilled in working across engineering teams and other functions in building alignment,
driving decision making, and communicating transparently.
Expert in backend development using Ruby on Rails. Knowledge of Java Spring boot is a plus.
Solid administration experience with AWS Cloud Services.
Bonus qualities
Experience using AWS cloud and its resources /services.
AWS certificates.
Strong work experience in Relational Databases including PostgreSQL.
Previous experience in automated testing tools including unit testing & UI testing.
Strong knowledge in DevOps, CI/CD, Docker containers.
Experience with Scrum/Agile Development methodologies.
Experience managing multiple projects at the same time.
