The role provides leadership and supervision to laundry, kitchen, grounds, housekeeping, and waste management teams while ensuring operational excellence, compliance, and high service standards across all non‑clinical support functions.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Oversee daily management, maintenance, and operation of hospital facilities and support services.
Supervise Laundry, Kitchen, Grounds, Housekeeping, and Waste Management personnel.
Ensure hospital buildings, utilities, equipment, and grounds are safe and functional.
Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for infrastructure and equipment.
Monitor laundry services to ensure timely availability of clean linen and uniforms.
Oversee kitchen operations for safe food preparation, hygiene, and quality meal service.
Manage grounds and landscaping to maintain a clean and welcoming environment.
Coordinate waste segregation, collection, storage, and disposal per healthcare guidelines.
Conduct regular inspections of facilities and implement corrective actions.
Prepare departmental work plans, budgets, reports, and resource requirements.
Manage service contracts, suppliers, and external contractors.
Promote efficient resource use and implement sustainability initiatives.
Collaborate with managers to ensure support services meet hospital needs.
Requirements
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Environmental Health, Hospitality Management, or Business Administration.
Professional certification in Facilities Management, OHS, or Environmental Management preferred.
Minimum 5 years’ experience in facilities, operations, or support services management.
Minimum 3 years supervising multidisciplinary teams.
Experience in healthcare or complex institutions preferred.
Demonstrated experience in facilities maintenance, waste management, housekeeping, laundry, or food service operations.
Required Skills and Competencies
Strong leadership and people management skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and computerized reporting systems.
Strong planning, organizational, and problem‑solving abilities.
Knowledge of facilities management principles and preventive maintenance.
