Light Up Hope Temporary Reliever Driver Jobs in Kenya; Light Up Hope has been implementing a School Feeding Program in Kajiado County since 2022, providing nutritious lunches to over 85,000 learners across 209 public primary schools. To enhance sustainability, LUH introduced the Sustainable School Meals Project (SSMP), supporting schools to establish climate‑smart agriculture. The Temporary Driver will play a critical role in supporting logistical needs for these initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Transportation and Logistics

Safely drive NGO staff, VIPs, and project participants to approved destinations, including offices, field sites, and official meetings.

Transport project goods, parcels, documents, and cargo, ensuring timely and secure delivery.

Vehicle Maintenance and Compliance

Ensure vehicles are clean, well‑maintained, and in good working condition.

Keep vehicle documentation (registration, insurance, maintenance records) up to date.

Report mechanical issues promptly and coordinate necessary repairs.

Adhere to local traffic laws and organizational safety policies.

Operational Support

Assist project teams with logistical tasks, including fieldwork support.

Be available during off‑hours or emergencies

to meet operational demands.

Teamwork and Professional Conduct

Build effective relationships with colleagues, external partners, and local authorities.

Demonstrate empathy, respect, and adaptability in diverse work environments.

Contribute to improving transport and logistical systems based on experience and best practices.

Qualifications & Skills

Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

3–5 years professional driving experience preferred.

Proficiency in driving manual transmission vehicles.

Knowledge of vehicle maintenance and basic mechanical troubleshooting.

Strong understanding of local traffic laws and safety regulations.

Ability to work under pressure, adapt to changing circumstances, and handle emergencies.

Good interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work as part of a team.

Basic literacy and numeracy; computer literacy an advantage.

Reports to Procurement and Logistics Officer.

No direct supervisory responsibilities.
