Light for the World We Can Work Program Intern Jobs in Kenya; The WCW Program Intern will support the implementation and coordination of activities within the We Can Work Academy. This internship is designed to provide hands-on experience in program planning, logistics coordination, data management, and disability-inclusive development. The intern will work closely with the WCW Program Officer and other key partners to ensure successful delivery of the academy tracks.
Key Responsibilities1. Program Support & Coordination Assist in coordinating academy logistics, including venue setup, materials preparation, and reasonable accommodation for participants with disabilities.
Support the tracking of participant attendance, feedback, and engagement.
Support coordinate sessions with trainers, partners, and disability inclusion advisors.
Support engagement activities with alumni and community stakeholders.
2. Documentation & Reporting
Help maintain accurate records of program activities, including meeting minutes, attendance lists, reimbursement lists and case studies.
Support the preparation of internal reports and updates to be submitted to the Program Officer and MERLA team.
Assist in taking photos, collecting testimonials, and drafting stories of change from participants (with consent).
3. Monitoring & Evaluation
Assist in collecting pre- and post-assessment data from participants.
Support data entry and help maintain an up-to-date participant database.
Follow up with participants to ensure ongoing engagement and address challenges in a timely manner.
4. Partnership & Communication
Liaise with implementing partners, training organizations, and service providers as needed.
Help coordinate communication with participants, caregivers, and community stakeholders.
Attend meetings and events
representing the WCW team as required.
Learning Opportunities

Learn how to engage with diverse stakeholders including youth with disabilities, NGOs, and government representatives.
Develop skills in project documentation, communication, and teamwork.#
Understand the application of reasonable accommodation and assistive technologies in inclusive programming.
Qualifications and Skills
Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Development Studies, Social Sciences, Education, or a related field.
Strong interest in disability inclusion, youth empowerment, and community development.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage time effectively.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
Experience in volunteering, student leadership, or community-based work is an added advantage.
Other Requirements
Willingness to travel locally when necessary.
