  • To strengthen our highly committed and passionate team we are looking for a Monitoring and Evaluation Coordinator

    Role profile:

  • As the Monitoring and Evaluation Coordinator Ethiopia you will be responsible for designing and coordinating the implementation of an M&E system that enables systematic measurement of progress, outcome and impact. You will also ensure the generation of continuous M&E evidence and build staff capacity to ensure establishment of a strong M&E system that supports the generation and dissemination of quality information for programme/project planning and management.
  • You will closely work with inclusive education and community-based rehabilitation, eye health, and NTD elimination/control programme team members at the country office and the M&E Coordinator and other programme team members at the international level. You will be an active member of Light for the World`s international M&E working group.

    Major responsibilities of this role involve:

  • Develop M&E framework/standard operating procedures that would guide the way the M&E system will be structured and function within Light for the World country office, update the document as deemed necessary
  • Develop indicators and incorporate the required ones into Light for the World`s core M&E system
  • Participate in proposal discussions and lead the development of M&E plans for all newly appraised/applied projects of the Ethiopia programme
  • In collaboration with programme teams design and ensure the implementation of standardised project monitoring tools and methodologies as required by donors and Light for the World standards
  • In collaboration with programme teams, plan and coordinate project specific assessments (baseline assessment, outcome monitoring surveys, operational research and evaluations), and share information within Light for the World International
  • Develop M&E capacity building plan and build capacities of Light for the World and partner staff on monitoring and evaluation through training and supportive supervision
  • In collaboration with communication, knowledge management and programme teams facilitate the documentation and sharing
    of programme knowledge in the form of lessons learnt, success stories and quantitative data within Light for the World International
  • Coordinate routine data quality assessment, documentation of findings, and development and implementation of action plans to improve data quality
  • Maintain and feed into the international M&E data management system
  • Review quality of periodic project reports which will be shared with donors.
  • Actively participate in supportive supervision organised by country office programme team or partners
  • Participate in programme/project review meetings

    Job Requirements

    Your profile:

  • You preferably have a master’s degree in monitoring and evaluation, public health, health informatics, statistics, economics, and other related development studies.
  • You can refer to at least five years of relevant experience in monitoring and evaluation of programmes/projects funded by institutional donors such as USAID/DFID/EU and others. You can demonstrate experience in staff capacity development on M&E.
  • You have excellent knowledge and skill in database management, strong quantitative and qualitative analytical and report writing skills
  • You have strong verbal and written communication skills and are fluent in English with a high proficiency in business writing.
  • You are proficient in using statistical tools such as SPSS, STATA, Epi Info as well as software applications and tools such as MS Office (especially MS Excel) and web conferencing applications.
  • You know your strengths and areas of improvement and are committed to personal development. You can work independently with minimum supervision
