Legal Action Worldwide Finance Coordinator - Nairobi Jobbs in Kenya;LAW is an independent non‑profit association of human rights lawyers and jurists working across 18 countries to deliver survivor‑centred, gender‑competent and trauma‑informed justice strategies. The Nairobi office manages programmes in Somalia, Ethiopia, Sudan and South Sudan.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting

  • Process all transactions in LAW’s financial accounting software.

  • Prepare/upload banking payments; monthly cash calls and quarterly forecasts.

  • Allocate admin costs to grants; implement/monitor financial controls.

  • Collaborate with Geneva Finance team for accurate allocations and reconciliations.

  • Collate invoices; lead local grant audits; support statutory audit.

  • Review monthly payroll; ensure timely salaries; provide monthly exchange rates.

    Budget & Grant Management

  • Prepare yearly fixed costs budget with Programme Manager.

  • Ensure compliance with LAW policies, accounting principles and donor regulations.

  • Deliver accurate monthly budget follow‑up and spending plans.

  • Prepare amendments to grant budgets; support new grant proposals.

  • Maintain financial archives; draft funding requests and donor reports.

  • Support/manage internal/external audits; coordinate with partners.

  • Review partner financial reports; prepare advance payments; provide
    training.

    About You

  • Legal right to work in Kenya.

  • Bachelor’s Degree + CPA‑K or equivalent.

  • Minimum 5 years’ INGO finance experience.

  • Strong knowledge of Kenyan statutory/tax requirements.

  • Excellent communication skills in English.

  • Advanced Excel skills; experience with donor frameworks and financial systems.

  • Flexibility under pressure; ability to communicate technical finance to non‑specialists.

  • Strong problem‑solving, organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects.

    Languages

    Fluency in English required.
