Job Specification

The duties and responsibilities at this level will involve: -

Verifying vouchers and committal documents in accordance with laid down rules and regulations;

Maintaining primary records such as cashbooks, ledgers, vote books and registers;

Ensuring safe custody of Agency records and assets under him/her;

Preparing budgets and financial reports;

Receiving duly processed payments and receipt vouchers;

Balancing and reconciling cash books on daily basis;

Facilitating withdrawal of cash for office use and ensuring safety of the same at all times;

Preparation of Bank reconciliations;

Extracting and providing cash liquidity analysis; and

Ensuring security of cheques and cheque books.

Person Specifications

For appointment to this grade, an officer must have/be:

Bachelor’s degree in Commerce (Accounting or Finance option), Business Administration (Accounting option) from a recognized institution or any other relevant equivalent qualification from a recognized Institution;

Passed Part III of the Certified Public Accountants (CPA) Examination;

A minimum period of six (6) years relevant work experience three (3) of which should be in supervisory position;

Proficiency in computer applications;

Demonstrated competence in work performance and results;
