Kwale County Government Engineering Technologist III (Irrigation) Jobs in Kenya

Job Summary

The County Public Service Board wishes to recruit competent and qualified persons on permanent and pensionable terms to serve in the Department of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries.

This is the entry and training grade in the irrigation technical cadre. The officer will work under the guidance and supervision of a senior officer in supporting irrigation development and farmer training activities.

Duties and Responsibilities

Inspect the development of irrigation infrastructure.

Collect baseline data for irrigation planning.

Organize farmers' meetings for irrigation technology development.

Train irrigation farmers on suitable irrigation scheme management and resource mobilization.

Identify sites for irrigation technology demonstration plots.

Support irrigation development activities within the County.

Qualifications and Requirements

Technician Part III Certificate in any of the following disciplines:

Irrigation
Irrigation and Drainage Engineering
Soil and Water Engineering
Agricultural Engineering
Farm Power and Machinery Engineering
Processing and Structures

OR a Diploma in any of the following fields:

Agricultural Engineering
Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering
Soil, Water and Environmental Engineering
Environmental and Biosystems Engineering
Biomechanical and Processing Engineering
Soil and Water Engineering
Any other relevant and equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.

Demonstrated merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.

Certificate in Computer Application Skills from a recognized institution.
