Kwale County Government County Audit Committee Member Jobs in Kenya
Job Summary
The Kwale County Public Service Board invites interested and suitably qualified persons to apply for appointment as Members of the County Audit Committee in accordance with the Public Finance Management Act, 2012 and the Public Finance Management Regulations, 2015.
The role is responsible for providing independent oversight of audit processes, financial reporting, governance, compliance, and risk management within the County Government.
Duties and Responsibilities
Provide strong and effective oversight of the County’s Internal Audit function.
Promote effective and efficient audit processes by providing independent reviews of internal audit work plans and reports.
Evaluate internal and external audit reports and make appropriate recommendations.
Ensure the integrity and transparency of the County’s financial reporting process through regular independent review of financial statements.
Monitor the effectiveness of the County’s performance management systems and performance information.
Review compliance with relevant legislative and regulatory requirements and promote lawful and ethical conduct.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as provided under the Public Finance Management Act, 2012, the Public Finance Management Regulations, 2015, and the Audit Committee Guidelines.
Terms of Service
Three (3) years contract on a part-time basis, renewable for one additional term subject to satisfactory performance.
Serve on a part-time basis.
Be paid allowances at rates determined by the Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC).
Requirements
for Appointment
Must be a Kenyan citizen.
Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized university.
Minimum of five (5) years relevant work experience.
Must be a member of a professional body and in good standing.
Knowledge of public service and government operations.
Must be a person of integrity and comply with the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010.
Must not be a past or present employee of Kwale County Government and must not have served as an employee or agent of a business organization that has conducted business with Kwale County within the last two years.
Must demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the objectives, principles, and functions of the Government of Kwale County.
