Kwale County Government Assistant Agriculture Officer III Jobs in Kenya

Job Summary

The County Public Service Board wishes to recruit competent and qualified persons on permanent and pensionable terms to serve in the Department of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries.

This is the entry and training grade for the agricultural extension cadre. Officers at this level will work under the guidance and supervision of senior officers in supporting crop production, farmer training, and agricultural extension services.

Duties and Responsibilities

Carry out practical demonstrations relating to crop production.

Accompany extension teams during farm visits and farmer training programmes.

Participate in field days and agricultural shows to disseminate crop production technologies and information.

Collect and collate crop-related data and information for gross margin analysis, market access, and planning.

Participate in collaborative agricultural research activities.

Collect crop input and product samples for analysis.

Advise farmers on group formation and organization.

Assist in the construction of farm structures and equipment.

Qualifications and Requirements

Diploma in any of the following disciplines:

Food Science
Home Economics
Agriculture
Horticulture
Agricultural Economics
Natural Resource Management
Agribusiness
Agricultural Extension
Agricultural Education
Any other relevant and equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.

Certificate in Computer Applications from a recognized institution.
