Functions of County Chief Officers

A County Chief Officer shall be responsible to the respective County Executive Committee member for the administration of a County department as provided under section 46 of the County Government Act, 2012. The County Chief officer shall be the Authorized officer in respect of the exercise of the delegated power.

Requirements for Appointment

Be a Kenyan Citizen;

Be a holder of bachelor’s degree in the relevant field;

Have at least 5 years’ work experience in public service;

Satisfy the requirements of Chapter six (6) of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010; and

Have excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
