Position summary

The Risk and Quality Assurance officers are responsible for establishing and coordinating the implementation of the hospital`s quality management system through quality assurance
programs and coordination of risk management within the hospital

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Initiating, formulating, implementing and analyzing risk and compliance policies, procedures and guidelines;

  • Developing risk management strategies and initiatives to identify and mitigate risks in the Hospital;

  • Developing, implementing, evaluating and continually improving a risk management system across the institution;

  • Preparing risk matrix in all departments;

  • Coordinating regular checks on systems, processes and procedures as well leading specific assignments;

  • Carrying out investigation on suspected fraudulent and corrupt activities;

  • Checking financial statements to ensure compliance with laid down standards;

  • Reviewing internal control systems in operation and reporting on any weaknesses;

  • Confirming compliance with statutes, regulations and guidelines;

  • Reviewing budgetary controls;

  • Preparing detailed compliance reports and recommendations;

  • Verifying and pre-auditing the financial statements;

  • Following up to ensure implementation of risk and compliance recommendations; and

  • Preparing of plans, budgets and reports.

    Minimum Academic Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Commerce degree (Accounting/Finance option) or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.

  • CPA (K) or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.

  • Certified training in Risk Management.

  • Certificate in fraud prevention and management.

  • Certificate in Part I, II, III and IV of Certified Internal Auditors (CIA) or its
    equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.

  • Certificate in Certified Information Systems Auditor Examination (CISA) or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.

  • Registration by the Institute of Auditors or Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya)

  • Proficiency in computer applications.

  • Fulfilled the requirement of Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010
