Occupational Therapist - V/FT/144/2022 - 1 Post

Position Summary

The Occupational Therapist’s job exists to formulate, review and interpret occupational therapy policies, procedures, standards and guidelines.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Providing occupational therapist services to patients;

  • Assessing and formulating patient’s treatment plan;

  • Examining and assessing patients’ needs;

  • Rehabilitation and habitation of patients through simulated activities;

  • Verifying and maintaining information relating to patients;

  • Maintaining records and data relating to patients;

  • Collecting data for operational research;

  • Sensitizing on occupational therapy issues;

  • Preparing periodic reports;

  • Ensuring availability of relevant materials, supplies and equipment;

  • Setting up and running model clinics;

  • Maintaining quality standards.

    Minimum Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution with at least 1-year experience

    and/or

  • A Diploma in Occupational Therapy with at least 3 years’ work experience.

  • Higher Diploma in occupational therapy (any specialty) is an added advantage.

  • Certificate of Registration with Kenya Occupational Therapist Association.

  • Current practicing license from the Kenya Occupational Therapist Association (KOTA).

  • Proficiency in computer applications.

  • Knowledge of professional standards.

  • Proven track record of research and training in a reputable institution.
