Cardiothoracic Surgeon - V/FT/159/2022 – 2 Posts

Position Summary

The Cardiothoracic Surgeon’s job exists to coordinate and provide specialized services, coordinate research and training and advise the hospital.

Duties and Responsibilities

Should be able to conduct surgeries on the heart, lung and other chest organs.

Management of patients in the outpatient clinic, inpatient wards and ICU.

Should be able to prepare patients for surgeries in consultation with other specialists like cardiologists, pulmonologists etc.

Participate in continuous medical education.

Supervise junior doctors, registrars and other allied healthcare workers.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from a recognized institution.

Master of Medicine in Cardiothoracic Surgery from a recognized institution.

Registration with the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC).

Recognition as a specialist by the KMPDC

Valid Practice License.

Professional Insurance Indemnity Cover.

Proficiency in computer applications.

At least one (1) year working experience as a Cardiothoracic Surgeon in a busy hospital.
