KRA Chief Manager - Authorized Economic Operator Jobs in Kenya


Responsibilities

Sensitization and Stakeholder engagements

  • Sensitize internal stakeholders(custom staff) on the benefits of the
    AEO/Pre Arrival programme not only to the companies but also to
    them(staff) in order to make them embrace it
  • Sensitize prospective companies on the benefits of the AEO/Pre Arrival programme
  • Sensitize partner government agencies and other key stakeholders
    on the mutual benefits of the programme
  • Attend local stakeholder engagements on issues touching on trade
    facilitation and articulate the vision of the programme

    Compliance audits/checks

  • Conduct constant compliance checks/audit to ensure companies on the programme meet the three criteria; compliance, security and
    financial solvency
  • Suggest and/or carry out corrective actions including suspension and revocation of the AEO certificates for companies that violate the
    said requirement
  • Continuously liaise with customs regions/sections and other partner
    government agencies to monitor the offences and/or violations committed by AEO/Pre Arrival companies

    Recruitment of AEO companies

  • Continuously recruit companies to join both the national and regional AEO program
  • Conduct vetting of applicants to ensure they meet the laid down criterion including compliance with customs and related regulation,
    financial solvency and security requirements.
  • Liaise with partner government agencies and other partner States to obtain information that will aid in the recruitment vetting process
  • Proactively train AEO validators in the recruitment/vetting process
    of the AEO programme

    Benefits managements/clients relationship management

  • Follow up on issues that AEO/Pre Arrival clients have within the department ensuring that they have been solved successfully or
    escalated as need maybe
  • Proactively engage clients to get feedback from them on areas that the programme can improve to make their experiences better

    International relations

  • Represent the authority on issues touching on AEO/Pre Arrival within the EAC region, WCO and other international forums

    Qualifications

  • A degree in Marketing or related field.
  • Master’s degree in a related field is an added advantage
  • Relevant Professional membership in relevant field of expertise
  • A minimum of five (5) years’ working experience at a Senior Management level
    in a busy organization.

    KRA Chief Manager – Alternative Dispute Resolution Jobs in Kenya

    Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and ensure implementation of strategic initiatives in Alternative Dispute Resolution
    (ADR) function;
  • Work with the revenue department to ensure seamless ADR process.;
  • To oversee the Case Review Forums;
  • To analyse and review Comprehensive Information Packs on tax disputes referred for ADR;
  • Facilitate and moderating ADR discussions;
  • Review technical and other reports for CTDR;
  • Support and implement the CTDR annual work plans and ensure compliance and implementation;
  • Support and Implement the formulation of policies, operational guidelines, targets in order to optimize staff productivity in the Division;
  • Cascading of Divisional target and monitoring the same;
  • To ensure compliance with Divisional SLA’s;
  • Manage an effective feedback mechanism for tracking ADR initiatives;
  • Coming up with strategies for stakeholder engagement

    Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree (BCom), Accounting, Economics, Statistics, Law;
  • A Master’s Degree, and/or CPA, ACCA will be an added advantage;
  • A member of Chartered Institute of Arbitrators will be an added advantage;
  • Computer literate;
  • Leadership, Management and Governance courses;
  • A good understanding of Revenue Statues and
    International Taxation;
  • Specialist in areas such as Transfer Pricing, Base Erosion and Profit Shifting, VAT, Income Tax, Excise Tax, ECCMA etc;
  • Exposure to disputes management, resolution and mediation skills.

    KRA Manager – Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Jobs in Kenya

    Job summary

    Coordinating Case Review Forums, oversee preparation of Comprehensive Information Pack (CIP) for facilitators, coordinate
    CTDR administrative operations, revenue related
    activities, preparing policy briefs, strategies and evaluation of ADR initiatives undertaken. Facilitating simple tax
    disputes.

    Responsibilities

  • To ensure compliance with SLA’s;
  • Participate in case review forums to determine suitability of tax disputes for ADR;
  • Participate in development of Comprehensive
    Information Packs (CIP) for facilitators;
  • Participate in the implementation of Dispute Management and Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) initiatives;
  • Develop and managing an effective feedback
    mechanism for tracking ADR initiatives;
  • Co-ordinate and manage tax disputes;
  • Participating and coming up with strategies for stakeholder engagement (both internal and external);
  • Preparing/review policy briefs and reports;
  • Preparing strategic and operational reports for the division;
  • Overseeing performance of Staff under his
    supervision;
  • Participate in sensitization of stakeholders on ADR strategies employed by KRA;

    Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree (BCom) in Finance or Accounting, Economics, Statistics & Law;
  • Must have undertaken 20-hour training on mediation skills;
  • Computer literate;
  • Management and Governance courses;
  • A Master’s Degree and CPA or ACCA will be an added advantage;
  • A member of Chartered Institute of Arbitrators will be an added advantage;
  • A good understanding of Revenue Statues and
    International Taxation;
  • Exposure to disputes management, resolution and mediation skills.
  • 8 years experience in dispute resolution practice, 4 of which should be in a senior management position in a comparable organization.

    KRA Assistant Manager – Alternative Dispute Resolution Jobs in Kenya

    Job summary:

    The purpose of this role is to participate in the implementation of Dispute Management and Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Initiatives and other activities in
    the Division.

    Responsibilities

  • Participate in the implementation of Dispute Resolution Management initiatives including Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) initiatives;
  • Participate in Case Review Forum;
  • Review cases for ADR suitability/unsuitability;
  • Participate in preparing and reviewing of
    Comprehensive Information Packs (CIP) for
    facilitators;
  • Participate in sensitization of stakeholders on ADR strategies employed by KRA;
  • Review ADR settlement agreements;
  • Review/ prepare technical and other reports for CTDR;
  • Prepare strategic and operational reports;
  • Prepare sector specific issues arising out of ADR meetings;
  • Assist to maintain updated reports and database for disputes handled at ADR;
  • Monitoring of general performance targets for the Division;
  • Assist in the Administration, monitoring and compliance function of the division;

    Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree (BCom), Finance or Accounting, Economics, Statistics, Law;
  • A Master’s Degree, CPA or ACCA will be an added advantage;
  • 20-hour training on mediation skills will be an added advantage;
  • Computer literate;
  • Management courses;
  • Must have served as a Supervisor or its former equivalent grades for at least three (3) years;
  • Exposure to disputes management, resolution and mediation skills.
