KRA Chief Manager - Data Governance Jobs in Kenya


Job Summary

This is a Leadership position, which will play a critical role in moving KRA towards being a Data driven Organization.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all organization-wide data governance activities and have responsibility for improving the quality and managing the protection of sensitive data and information
    assets.
  • Provide vision, expertise, and long range planning in enterprise data architecture, data integration, master data management,
    enterprise data governance to support advanced analytics & Business Intelligence.
  • Focus on establishing and ensuring adherence to the data governance framework for data policies, standards and practices, both at the business and corporate levels, to achieve
    the required level of consistency, quality and protection to meet overall business needs.
  • You should be flexible, possess proven interpersonal skills,
    attention to detail, an advanced ability to prioritize tasks, and
    the ability to work well with colleagues and stakeholders at multiple levels of the organization to influence change within
    the organization.

    Qualifications

  • A Master’s degree in Data Science, Information Management,
    Statistics, Data governance or a related field
  • Membership to relevant professional body is Mandatory.
  • A clear understanding of the Authority’s mandate, business systems and data management journey.
  • At least Five years’ experience working within information Science , Systems analysis or data Analytics and governance setting
  • A minimum of 5 years of extensive database experience with good knowledge of Business Intelligence and Data Warehousing
    Concepts, during which both professional and management capabilities have been clearly demonstrated

    KRA Chief Manager - Research and Surveys Jobs in Kenya

    Responsibilities

  • Assist the Deputy Commissioner in general administration of the Division and direct research, surveys modelling and forecasting,
  • Provide leadership and ensure implementation of strategic initiatives in Research, Surveys, Business Analysis & Innovation;
  • Oversee the development and review of policies, operational guidelines, and procedures for Research, Surveys & Innovation
  • Oversee the preparation and implementation of research agenda,
  • Coordinate the development of briefs on tax administration and policy issues for Senior Management;
  • Coordinate preparation of revenue forecasts and monitor
    revenue performance and revenue risks
  • Evaluating the impact on tax revenues of various interventions/policy changes/initiatives
  • Disseminate user friendly information to stakeholders
  • Coordination of tax modelling and revenue forecasting
  • Coordination of service delivery, staff and work environment surveys to inform decision making,
  • Scanning of the monthly operating environment and its implications on revenue collection,
  • Planning and formulation of the strategic direction of the Division,
  • Manage relationship with stakeholders and represent the Authority in various research forums,

    Qualifications

  • Masters degree in Economics or Statistics from a recognized university (Doctoral qualifications in Economics will be an
    added advantage)
  • First degree must be in Economics.
  • Senior level management training
  • Computer literacy in relevant computer packages such as Microsoft Office, SPSS or other statistical analysis packages
  • At least 10 years post graduate experience with at least 5 at managerial level.

    KRA Chief Manager - Analytics & BI Applications Jobs in Kenya

    Responsibilities

  • Manage and optimize processes for data intake, validation, mining, engineering as well as modelling and visualization.
  • Understand complex business challenges, design scientific solutions, and synthesize insights while managing large datasets using machine learning or advanced statistical
    modelling techniques
  • Perform Advanced analysis and predictive modelling with minimal supervision.
  • Use machine learning, data mining, predictive modelling& statistical techniques to create new scalable models for business
    requirements
  • Work with the business departments to interpret their data processing needs and provide the most optimal solutions using
    Business Intelligence software/tools.
  • Implement Data Warehouse & Business Intelligence solution.
  • Manage the data analytics team to optimize corporate data data for visualization purposes and develop high-end data
    visualizations for revenue forecasting.
  • Prioritizing, preparing and implementing BI and/or DW architectural improvements(i.e. developing and recommending alternative DW technical and data management solutions,
    methodologies, strategies and architectural improvement plans).
  • Design and development of data models, extraction code and cleansing routines utilizing typical data quality functions, i.e.
    standardization, transformation, rationalization, linking and matching that leverages data standards, processes and
    technology management for data, master data, and metadata; and, data security (including data masking and related data protection techniques)
  • Supervise data management project activities
  • Implementation of Business Intelligence tools and user interfaces.
  • Examine, interpret and report results of data analytical initiatives to Steering committee.

    Qualifications

  • A Master’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Data Science, Information Science, Mathematics or a related field is required.
  • Membership to relevant professional body is Mandatory.
  • A minimum of 5 years of extensive database experience with a good knowledge of Business Intelligence and Data Warehousing Concepts, during which both professional and management
    capabilities have been clearly demonstrated.
  • At least five (5) years experience in advanced data analysis.
  • Strong SQL & data visualization skills.
  • Experience in analytic s and database management software such as SPSS, SQL and R
  • Solid experience in data modeling /data mapping
  • Experience in building and supporting BI/analytics/big data business cases
  • Experience in Big data Analytics, cloud and advanced analytics and Machine Learning is an added advantage.

    KRA Chief Manager - Budget & Technical Support Jobs in Kenya

    Responsibilities

  • Provide necessary strategy and innovation in Corporate Budget Coordination Process.
  • Co-ordination and participation in the Treasury Budget Process.
  • Articulating KRA Budget Proposals at Treasury and Parliament.
  • Co-ordination of External Stakeholder engagements on budget changes in liaison with Operational Departments.
  • Coordination of Post Budget amendments at Committee stage in Parliament.
  • Enhance staff technical capacity through strategic and innovative guidance to the Line Departments Technical Staff.
  • Participate in deliberation of budget proposals at Corporate Level.

    Qualifications

  • Be in possession of a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized University in the fields of Finance, Accounting, Economics, Law or Taxation.
  • Master’s degree, in any of the field will be an added advantage.
  • Certified Public Accountant (K) or any similar qualifications.
  • Conversant with tax legislations that govern VAT, Income Tax, Excise Duty and EACCMA.
  • At least 5 years’ experience at a senior management position in a relevant field.
  • A good knowledge of practices, systems and techniques applicable in a modern Tax administration.
  • Have an analytical mind, a critical thinker, decision maker and one who can give policy advice to revenue administrators and
    policy makers.
  • Possess good leadership and communication skills
  • Computer literate.
