The Company

Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) is the principal revenue collector for the Government of Kenya, with the primary goal to deliver Kenya to financial self-sufficiency through effective tax revenue mobilization.

KRA seeks a result oriented, self-driven individual of high integrity to fill the position of Commissioner Corporate Support Services.

Purpose of the job:

The Commissioner General, as the Chief Executive Officer is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Authority, the management of its funds and property and for providing leadership to the Authority’s staff.

He/ She will ensure that the Authority operates in line with its Vision “To become a Globally Trusted Revenue Agency, Facilitating Tax and Customs Compliance”.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Management of funds and property of the Authority;
  • Leading and managing staff to ensure delivery of the Authority’s mandate;
  • Overseeing revenue collection activities in line with Government of Kenya expectations;
  • Fostering a conducive environment that encourages compliance with Tax and Customs legislation;
  • Promoting tax administration practices that facilitate trade and business growth;
  • Building and sustaining sound working relationships with Government agencies and other stakeholders including taxpayers;
  • Acting as Chief spokesperson for the Authority; and
  • Serving as the Authority’s ambassador on Tax and Customs matters at both regional and international levels.

    Applicants must possess the following minimum qualifications:
  • First Degree from a reputable accredited University and relevant business professional qualifications;
  • At least fifteen (15) years’ working experience of which ten (10) must be at senior leadership level in large public or private entities;
  • Demonstrate compliance with the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010 and The Leadership and Integrity Act;
  • Knowledge of Fiscal and Tax Policy and Administration shall confer additional advantage.

  • This is a key position open to persons with the relevant exposure and experience.
  • The appointment is for a three-year term, renewable for one further term subject to relevant public service regulations governing staff tenure.
