KPMG Forensic and Financial Crime Risk Management Lead Jobs in Kenya;KPMG East Africa is seeking a Forensic & Financial Crime Risk Management Lead to support the growth and delivery of its forensic and financial crime portfolio.

The successful candidate will lead complex AML/CFT/PF, fraud risk management, compliance, forensic review, investigation and regulatory remediation engagements, while building trusted client relationships and driving business development across diverse sectors.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Crime Risk Management / AML‑CFT‑PF Advisory

Lead AML/CFT/PF audits, compliance reviews, risk assessments, sanctions reviews and transaction monitoring.

Advise on frameworks, governance, policies, procedures and controls.

Support clients in assessing exposure to money laundering, terrorist financing, proliferation financing and sanctions.

Provide remediation strategies to address regulatory and governance deficiencies.

Fraud Risk Management & Forensic Advisory

Lead fraud risk assessments, prevention framework reviews, investigations and whistleblower reviews.

Advise on strengthening fraud governance, detection and response.

Support forensic accounting reviews, evidence gathering and defensible reporting.

Enterprise Risk Management & Internal Audit Support

Provide specialist input into risk assessments and audit procedures.

Develop recommendations addressing control weaknesses and governance gaps.

Data, Technology & Innovation

Apply analytics and technology to detect fraud, compliance and control anomalies.

Collaborate with forensic technology and digital teams on dashboards and risk profiling.

Contribute to innovative methodologies and tools for forensic engagements.

Relationship Management & People Leadership

Build strong relationships with executives, boards, regulators and stakeholders.

Identify business opportunities and contribute to proposals and thought leadership.

Mentor and develop teams across forensic, fraud risk and AML/CFT/PF engagements.

Drive quality, profitability and performance across the portfolio.

Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, Commerce, Law, Criminology, Risk Management, Statistics, Mathematics, Actuarial

Science, Computer Science, Data Analytics or related field.

Professional certification in AML/CFT/PF or financial crime risk management (e.g., CAMS/ACAMS) required.

Additional qualifications (CFE, CPA, ACCA, CIA, CISA, CFCS, ICA, forensic accounting) an advantage.

Law degree or regulatory background desirable.

Master’s degree an advantage.

Minimum 9 years’ experience in consulting, forensic services, compliance, banking, insurance, fintech, internal audit, investigations, regulatory institutions or law enforcement.

Demonstrated experience leading teams and managing complex engagements.

Practical experience in AML/CFT/PF reviews, fraud risk assessments, compliance reviews, investigations and remediation.

Technical Competencies & Attributes

Expertise in AML/CFT/PF frameworks, FATF standards and compliance programmes.

Strong knowledge of fraud risk governance, internal controls and forensic accounting.

Proficiency in data analytics, anomaly detection and technology‑enabled reviews.

Strong project management, stakeholder management and commercial acumen.

Excellent leadership, mentoring and communication skills.

High integrity, professional judgement and resilience in fast‑paced environments.
