  • Our client, the KPA Pension Scheme is undergoing a transformation to streamline its operations in order to realise its envisioned growth and efficiency in service delivery to its members.

  • In consideration of the intended growth, the Scheme wishes to recruit a qualified individual to occupy the following position.

    ICT Assistant - HR/SA/PKF 15

  • Responsible for facilitating ICT services delivery and ensuring that the information flow and development of ICT meets the scheme needs. In addition, the position will be responsible for the development of the staff through training.

    Roles and Responsibilities

  • Provide IT related support, by reviewing the Scheme’s needs, in terms of computerization, telecommunication, and other technology;

  • Organize computer training and support for all staff in KPAPS;

  • Scout for new technological innovations within KPAPS’ core business areas;

  • Participate in the updating KPAPS IT knowledge by participating in learning opportunities; reading professional publications and maintaining personal networks;

  • Make system modifications, develop work-around plans or site-specific enhancements, manipulating data, reconfiguring systems, changing operating procedures, training users or operations staff, producing additional documentation, or escalating requests to systems development staff or software suppliers;

  • Ensure all work is carried out and documented in accordance with required standards, methods and procedures;

  • Monitor progress of requests for support and ensures users and other interested parties are kept informed. Takes corrective action to avoid or minimize delays;

  • Supporting the design and implementation of IT policies and procedures; and

  • Perform any other duties as may be assigned

    Knowledge and Skills
    Required


  • Bachelor’s degree in IT/ Computer Science from a recognized institution.

  • Minimum three (3) years of experience in the IT Profession

  • Should have adequate knowledge of the relevant industry/sector as well as knowledge of regulatory requirements affecting the relevant sector

  • Should be well knowledgeable of the ICT trends in the market

  • Must have ability to plan, organize, implement and evaluate assigned goals

  • Must demonstrate ability to handle multiple and conflicting priorities, and work under strict deadlines.

  • Should have strong analytical and be result oriented

  • Must have high standards of integrity and ethical practice

  • Must be capable of functioning effectively in a team

  • Must have management skills

  • Must have ability to accurately plan work assignments, prioritize tasks and deliver deadlines

  • Should have problem-solving and decision-making abilities

  • Should be an effective communicator with the ability to handle both internal and external communication

  • Should have effective people management and conflict resolution skills

  • Must have knowledge in use of MS office packages
