About the RoleWe're looking for (2) Finance Officers. The successful individuals will handle one of the following key functions in the Finance department.
Payroll & General Ledger Management:
You’ll directly be responsible for processing payroll, remitting payroll taxes and government reporting as well as preparing monthly, quarterly and year-end payroll statements.
You’ll also ensure compliance with government regulations, establishing and implementing policies and maintain a variety of ledgers used to produce key financial reports.
Treasury, Inventory & Fixed Asset Management:
You’ll be directly responsible for recording the cost of newly-acquired fixed assets, tracking existing fixed assets, recording depreciation, and accounting for the disposal of fixed assets. You’ll drive the integration of inventory management across the business and liaise with various departments to keep track of and update inventory balances.
You’ll get also to assess, monitor, plan and manage the efficient utilization of cash and financial services in a manner consistent with Komaza objectives.
Responsibilities Overview
Payroll & General Ledger Management
Ensure all payroll transactions are processed efficiently
Process PAYE, NSSF, NHIF and other statutory requirements
Administer health plans, including enrollment and terminations
Ensure that all financial transactions have been properly accounted for and accurately booked in the company's accounting system.
Handle accounting and related system reports for accuracy and completeness to include auditing master records and transactional data
Develop bank reconciliations, intra-company reconciliations, and other month-end general ledger reconciliations
Manage journal entries and ensure proper general ledger coding in support of monthly closings
Treasury, Inventory & Fixed Asset Management
Process bank payments and prepare monthly bank reconciliations
Prepare and review periodic cash forecasts and allocate cash to be transferred at the beginning of each period to cover operational
needs
Liaise regularly with Corporate Finance in order to understand ongoing changes in business activities and developments and their impact on the cash position
Create and monitor a system of controls, procedures, and forms for recording of fixed assets
Track company expenditures for fixed assets in comparison to the capital budget and management authorizations
Establish and implement inventory management policies and procedures.
Post all inventory transactions to the QuickBooks system and other accounting systems.
Develop ad hoc financial and operational reports as needed
What You Have
Bachelor degree in Finance/Accounting or any other business related field
Certification with CPA or ACCA is an added advantage
At least 3 years financial experience in payroll and benefits processing , taxation general accounting and financial reporting
Proficiency in Accounting and Payroll Softwares e.g, QuickBooks, SAGE etc
