Purpose of the position and organizational position

  • The purpose of the position is to represent the IMPAACT4TB project in Ethiopia and supervise the IMPAACT4TB project team.

  • The IMPAACT4TB Project Manager is responsible for the overall implementation of the project including the development of country plans, implementation, monitoring, reporting and budget.

  • The Project Manager coordinates and works closely together with in-country stakeholders included the National TB Program and HIV Program), PEPFAR, CDC and other stakeholders to implement the project.

  • The Project Manager supervises the Ethiopia IMPAACT4TB Project team of Ethiopia staff and reports functionally to the IMPAACT4TB project team at KNCV’s Head Office in The Hague and hierarchically to the Country Representative.

    Profile

    The Project Manager will:

  • Provide overall technical leadership and management of the IMPAACT4TB project;

  • Lead the project life cycle: from annual planning, implementation to monitoring and reporting;

  • Ensure high quality and timely delivery on all contractual and programmatic obligations, including project reporting;

  • Build capacity of, and supervise the IMPAACT4TB project team to ensure high performance and technical leadership to enable them to build the capacity of local partners;

  • Maintain partner relations and coordination among stakeholders (e.g. NTP, MOH, PEPFAR, CDC, GF);

  • Contribute to country-specific implementation strategy in national and regional fora, guideline committees and TB working groups on LTBI;

  • Oversee relevant national and regional policy developments on LTBI, adherence support and identify strategic opportunities to contribute to policy development.

    Job Requirements

    Education

  • Medical Doctor with a masters’ degree in public health, epidemiology or other relevant additional education.

    Knowledge/Experiences

  • In depth knowledge of TB and LTBI from a clinical and programmatic perspectives, and based in local NTP and WHO policies;

  • Demonstrated experience (at least 5 years) working in TB programmes/projects and interventions;

  • Demonstrated experience in TB project management funded by international organizations;

  • Good interpersonal skills with experience in networking with partners at all levels (ministry, donors, private sector, NGOs and local community based organizations)

  • Experience supervising local staff;
    Substantial experience in developing implementation/operational plans;

  • Substantial experience in developing progress reports;

  • Fluency in spoken and written English.

  • Able to communicate within the organization and the partnership network;

  • Planning and organizing;

  • Country national preferable, conversant in the local language;

  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently;
