Job Description
For appointment to this grade, an Officer must have:
Cumulative service period of twelve (12) years’ relevant work experience, three (3) of which should have been at the grade of Chief Laboratory Technologist II or in a comparable position.
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant area of specialization from a recognized and accredited institution.
Master’s degree in the relevant area of specialization from a recognized and accredited institution.
Registration with a relevant professional body (where applicable).
Valid practising licence from the relevant professional body (where applicable).
Certificate in Leadership course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized and accredited institution.
Demonstrated merit and ability as reflected in work performance, leadership, and results.
Responsibilities
Leading and managing laboratory operations and staff.
Ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
Supporting teaching, research, and advanced practical training activities.
Driving innovation, leadership, and continuous improvement in laboratory services.
