Position Summary

To ensure the institute promotes corporate branding and image. Develop and implement communication policy and strategy, manage internal and external communications. Manage KIPPRA website and social media platform

Key Responsibilities

Duties and responsibilities will entail: -

  • Developing, implementing and maintaining public affairs and communications strategies;

  • Managing Institute’s relationship with the media;

  • Designing and approving corporate materials and branding;

  • Ensuring the KIPPRA website is regularly updated;

  • Overseeing the branding of the Institute;

  • Ensuring the KIPPRA social media platforms ;

  • Coordinating all the Institute’s public functions;

  • Reviewing the Institute’s corporate image;

  • Fostering stakeholder relations;

  • Ensuring appropriate feedback mechanisms are in place;

  • Coordinating the Institute’s advertising and publicity;

  • Ensuring maintenance of all public affairs and communications records and photographs;

  • Providing professional assistance to the Institute in all areas of communications, public relations and media relations;

  • Organizing public events;

  • Preparing media briefs and speeches;

  • Collecting information for the preparation of the Institute’s newsletter and supplements;

  • Developing proposals for sourcing appropriate media to disseminate information on activities of the Institute’s; and

  • Preparing radio and television infomercials; and preparing reports on communications

    Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in Communication, Public Relations or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;

  • Masters Degree in Communication, Public Relations or related field, or equivalent qualification from a
    recognized institution;

  • Professional qualification and affiliation;

  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience relevant work experience;

  • Supervisory skills course lasting not less than two (2) weeks from a recognized institution;

  • Demonstrated professional competence as reflected in work performance and results;

  • Possession of graphics design, video editing/editorials, brand management, social media, and media coverage skills is an added advantage

  • Computer Skills in corporate communication tools e.g. web, social media and print media;
    and

  • Fulfil the requirements for Chapter six (6) of the Constitution.
