Kilifi Mariakani Water and Sewerage Company Limited, is one of the water service providers in the Coast region and a wholly owned subsidiary of the County Government of Kilifi licensed by Coast Water Services Board (CWSB) to offer water and sewerage services in Kilifi, Rabai, Kaloleni and Ganze sub-counties wishes to recruit high caliber, results oriented and self driven professional who will provide leadership and strategic direction in the capacity of the following post;

Reporting to the Board of Directors and supervises / oversees Departmental Heads

Representative Tasks

Organization Functions

Advise the Organization on the necessary changes as per legal requirements pertaining to the status, functions and activities of KIMAWASCO.

Participate in the deliberations of the committees of the Organization.

Represent the Organization on outside forums whenever and wherever required.

Develop and recommend to the Organization the long-term strategies, business plans, and annual operating budgets; and establishes proper internal monitoring and control systems and procedures.

Co-ordinate and prepare business related proposals, reports and other submissions for consideration by the Organization.

Finance

Identify financial requirements for the functions and activities of KIMAWASCO

Advises the Organization on possible sources of finance for KIMAWASCO’s functions and activities

Allocate funds to the various sections and projects.

Receives and reviews periodic financial and audit reports.

Policy Decisions

With reference to the Chairman of the Organization, prepares memoranda for policy discussions and implements all policy decisions. Administration

Makes all information available to the Organization for decisions regarding senior staff appointments, appraisals and promotions.

Identifies and recommends training/development needs for senior staff.

Makes final decisions on general staff administration.

General Functions

Attends to important correspondence

relating to the functions and activities of the KIMAWASCO.

Attend to outreach and public relations matters.

Attend to the general administration and maintenance of the KIMAWASCO’s facilities.

Approve participation in conferences, seminars and symposia by staff.

Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Either Engineering/Law/Economics or Business Studies

Member of a professional Body, in good standing.

At least 10 years working experience, three of which Must be in a Senior Management Position

Computer literacy

Meets the requirements of Chapter six (6) of the Constitution of Kenya

Has good communication and negotiation skills

Experience in the water sector will be an added advantage

Terms of Employment

The Managing Director will be engaged on a three year renewable contract subject to satisfactory performance by the Board of Directors.
