Kiambu County County Solicitor – Office of the County Attorney - Jobs in Kenya

Reports to the County Attorney.

Requirements for Appointment

  • Be a Kenya Citizen;
  • Be a holder of Degree in Law form a University recognized in Kenya or its
    equivalent;
  • Masters Degree in Law from a recognized University will be an added advantage;
  • Have a Post Graduate Diploma in legal studies from the Kenya School of Law;
  • Have relevant knowledge and experience of not less than seven (7) years
    relevant professional experience;
  • Must be an advocate of the High Court of Kenya and hold a current practicing
    certificate;
  • Meets the requirements of leadership and integrity set out in Chapter six of
    Constitution of Kenya;
  • Be a member of Law Society of Kenya with good standing.

    Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist the Attorney General in the performance of the duties of the County Attorney
  • Organize, co-ordinate and manage the administrative and the legal functions of
    the Office;
  • Conduct, or assign and supervise all court cases, including appeals or petitions
    on behalf o the County Attorney
  • Be responsible for the discipline of legal counsel and other members of staff of
    the Office;
  • Perform such other duties as may be conferred by law or otherwise assigned to
    the solicitor General by the County Attorney.

    Current (valid in 2019) documents below.

  • Criminal Investigation Department (Certificate of Good Conduct)
  • Higher Education Loans Board (HELB)
  • Credit Reference Bureau (CRB)
  • Applications should reach the County Public Service Board (CPSB) on or before the
    22nd March, 2019
  • Shortlisted candidates will be required to produce their original identity cards, academic
    and professional certificates, testimonials, clearance and other relevant documents in
    support of their applications.
